My name is Deiovid, also known as Robert Cruz. I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, and I’m currently living in California with my beautiful girlfriend, our two kids, and six cockatiels who run the house more than we do.
I livestream regularly and use this site as a hub for everything I’m involved in — content creation, community, side projects, and the things I care about most. I enjoy training on my punching bag, gaming, trying strange foods, firearms, Anime, live streaming, chatting in comments, internet culture, and spending real time with my family. I’m passionate about helping animals and cooking big, satisfying meals for my girlfriend and me to enjoy. I’ve got plenty more interests too — I usually save some of those for the next live stream, so don’t miss out.
I was raised by my father in the Bronx. He was a middle-class man who taught me the value of working hard, standing on your own, and being considerate to others. Those lessons stuck. Today, I am a retired Hotel Manager and I work as a home health aide for a family with an autistic child. We spend time together reading, writing, learning, and simply being friends. It’s meaningful work that keeps me grounded.
As a side hustle, I run an eBay store with my girlfriend and kids. We do our best to find good items and sell them at fair prices. It’s a family effort, and every purchase helps support what we’re building together. If you’re interested, check out our eBay store and support a small family business.
In my teenage and early adult years, I went through serious hardships, including homelessness. After my father passed away — he was my only family at the time — I spent a year living on the streets of New York. Losing him was devastating, and surviving that period was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I’m grateful I made it through. That experience didn’t turn me into a motivational speaker — it made me tenacious, observant, and very clear about what matters and what doesn’t. I don’t romanticize struggle, but I deeply respect resilience and the will to survive.
One of my biggest passions is birds, especially parrots. Cockatiels are my favorite, and the ones I have are family. Every year, I personally buy parrots that need to be rehomed. Parrots and their accessories are expensive, and many owners won’t relinquish a bird without cash — even when the bird is clearly distressed. To me, giving up some money is worth it if it means helping an animal that can’t help itself. I’ve helped birds that hadn’t been out of their cages in years become happy, healthy companions again. I’m incredibly grateful I get to do this work and to spend time with parrots I might never have encountered otherwise. They’re beautiful animals that deserve care, patience, and respect. If you’re interested in parrots, you can see more of that work at @parrotnado.
For now, I’ll end it here — got to leave us something to talk about on stream. Pop in and ask me about my favorite movies, shows and books or tell me about yourself. Whether you found your way here through my livestreams, food videos, Parrotnado, eBay, or just a random vibe, thank you for taking the time to read my words.
Stay awesome.
